We have had a productive week with a very successful Open Day on Sunday 9th November followed by a visit for the GFA Head of Operations Panel Aaaron Stroop who carried out some instructor training.
The Open Day was an outstanding success from all aspects. We flew 17 Air Experience flights, welcomed an estimated 150+ visitors, 14 visiting aircraft including warbirds formation Winjeel/Yak52 as well as a DH82 Tiger Moth.
Thanks to all the members who worked to make the day a success. What a great team we have in Gliding Tasmania!
CONGRATULATIONS to Stephen Ross who passed his Level 2 Instructor upgrade this week with Aaron Stroop. A well deserved achievement.
Gliding Tasmania is now able to provide BASIC AEROBATIC TRAINING having met GFA requirements during the week. Contact Stephen Richard or Bob for details.
Julian Barons has met the minimum experience requirements to qualify for aerotowing and has commenced training with CFI Richard. So we will have another tug pilot on the roster soon which will improve our operational capability.
We are now all geared up for the summer soaring season so we look forward to seeing you on the field soon
Bob
