Membership levels

 
 

Full Membership

Provides 12 months full membership is for adult members and includes a levy which is paid to the State Gliding Association. that you are affiliated with through your gliding club membership.

Youth/Student Membership

Provides 12 months full membership is for young members under the age of 18 or full-time students (at least 20 hours per week of course attendance) up to 26 years old. This membership provides exactly the same benefits and requirements of the full adult membership.

Non-Flying Active Membership

This applies to people who are maintenance engineers or ground instructors who do no flying. This category is also for Tug pilots who don’t fly gliders.

Non-Flying Associate Membership

This applies to members who are acting as volunteers to assist clubs or competitions.

3 Month Membership

This is a category for Australian residents and can be purchased once only by people wishing to try gliding for the first time If you wish to continue after 3 months then a full membership must be purchased.

Flying Family Membership

This applies to people with rights similar to an Air Experience Flight. Members can receive instruction but no pilot-in-command rights and no solo flights. They must fly with an instructor to touch the controls.

Family Membership

This membership is to enable family members to more easily engage in the sport and club and provides BBL insurance cover when volunteering in the sport. Family members can fly as a private passenger at any time but if they decide they would like to take gliding a little further they can take out a Flying Family Membership.
